PPI represents NOAA in interagency functions, including
those associated with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the U.S.
Climate Change Science Program, and the U.S. Ocean Action Plan. PPI catalyzes,
launches and monitors the implementation of new internal policies that are
needed to advance program integration and improve program performance. The
office guides and monitors the progress of policies on such issues as the
transition of research to application, partnerships with the private and
academic sectors, and NOAA’s use of social science to measure performance
and prioritize activities.
